I was going to record it for another three short visual novel video, turns out the time estimation is way off! It took me around 25 minutes to finish it. Well, not that the estimation is wrong, it needs to consider let's play~
Either way another nice visual novel again from the Blue Kiss Studio. There was a message of getting out of a "toxic relation" in this one (or I'm wrong and she is indeed being blackmailed by some sort of evil witch organization). Also, it looks very illegal for a visual novel to look like this (in a good way).
Thank you so much for playing my game again! And sorry for the wrong time estimation, it seems this varies a lot from player to player, but I will edit this in the game description.
You are correct with your interpretation as their is an obvious story with those fantasy elements but also the metaphorical message.
Oh my god the thumbnail cracks me up!! I saw this earlier and I'm still such a noob when it comes to the indie game scene, but this really gave me "Ah, Youtubers making edits of my drawings? Guess I am really doing this game thing now!" vibe. Thank you so much for playing, I still need to watch the video when I got a few spare minutes later, and it will be very helpful to me to see how you played through this.
Pretty dang good. I was pretty confused and thought I was done for, but I wasn't. Tried to avoid sacrificing important things but eventually you have to. At least I got to save the crystals from her mom. Sad but good.
Just like the first game you made, this is a charming game with a very relatable message. Once again, I too, had to give up some things I cared about to meet a quata, only to realize later that I didn't really need to do it. It's easy to get caught up in the hype, be it to buy something, or to please someone else. Tech wise, this is a step up from your previous game. I like how you added a adventure game element and some 3d animation! And I love the banter between your characters. Your pretty good with character interactions. I also felt something in the second half, where she is force to give up things she would regret giving up later. And feeling that crunch to find items to fit the quota reminds me of me trying to raise money for something, or my parents making me clean my room, and being desperate enough to give up anything, even the valuable stuff. Boy, do this game give me flashbacks. In a good way too. And the message is very meaningful, and something not everyone talks about or realize. So it's good that your are spreading the massage that it's okay to not live up to expectations, be it other people's expectations, or your own.
Overall, I big step up from your first game. Thank you for sharing!
The interactivity was a definitely a great addition. The math puzzle took me embarrassingly long to solve (I didn't notice the window above the closet T-T)
The vague delivery was perfect, making the player project their own feelings onto the character thus pulling in player participation.
If I had to suggest something it would be to flesh the world out a little bit. Things seem a bit too vague to keep the player grounded in the scenario. Just small things like maybe you find a book on some history about this world or perhaps an article about how witches in this world are perceived by the common people. Of course I realize that the world is not meant to be the focus here but one can always make the world out to be a reflection of the main character's perception. Small things like that can immerse the player more imo.
The 3D transition was a pleasant surprise.
There were some rendering issues from time to time (just a lil distracting not a big deal)
I see that rushing the game bit me in the ass when it came to worldbuilding since I agree with you here!! Some objects were supposed to explain a bit of backstory but I got so lost in this that I entirely forgot about it. That you bring this up actually makes me feel a bit: "Ahhh! I forgot to focus on that!!" 😭
I need to revisit a few things when the game gets unlocked after the jam voting ends.
I still have no idea how to fix the rendering issues. It was suggested to make the images or the whole game file smaller since the whole game gets loaded at once before the start. Will play around with that too!
Thank you so much for the feedback, it's REALLY appreciated and helps me a ton. Thank you so much for playing and enjoying the game again!
Another great game, this one is a little challenging for me as I didn't get the message of this one, I think I already know what it is but I am not 100% about it, but I think this is a good thing, because it could be everything, so it would be open for interpretation and that's pretty cool, really liked this one, the art, music and it was also very nice to explore the house.
Thank you so much for playing and recording my game again! It feels so unreal to see my stuff on YT.
There is one message behind the game, but I already noticed not everyone understood it the way as I had intended. So I will have to decide if I patch the dialogue once the voting period for the jam is over or keep it like this.
I will work hard to make it more obvious for the next game!
It's a simple game but a pretty good one so no surprise here ;)
Well, you could do the same you did on your first game, but just tell it when the game ends, I think that would be better, or you should let it be like that because like I said, it's open for interpretation, but that's up to you.
It's crazy the amount of interactivity this game has with the scenario, loved the math puzzle thing and the story is good too! aand the art, pretty art <3< 3 <3 Good game and really good visual novel!
I didn't have time to compress all images since I submitted my game a few minutes before deadline, so the final game ended up about 40MB. I need to adjust my scope for the next gamejam if I continue to use the web plugin.
I will try to draw more character sprites and focus on characters for the next game.
Yeah, I understand what you mean, I had trouble taking screenshots for the game page because the witch always looks the same! It would have been better if she changed her pose in some sections of the game. I will put more work into variations for the next game!
Thank you for the feedback, I really appreciate it

Great art as usual! Love the music choice!
